The German offensive towards Moscow finally came to a halt as winter snowstorms stopped all further efforts. Taking advantage of the ill prepared Wehrmacht, the Soviets began to counterattack the invaders. The Soviet counteroffensive began rolling westward on December 5th, the 21st Tank Brigade supporting the 371st Rifle Division, a newly formed unit. Driving forward, lead elements of the brigade encountered infantry units dug in around a small village supported by antitank and assault gun assets.
Objectives: Your company is tasked with securing the bridge crossing to the southwest, and will converge on the village just north of the crossing. Your platoon forms the center of the company battleline, and will have the honor of capturing the river crossing objective. The two FlaK 88 emplacements, one north, and one east of the village are key, and must be destroyed for the attack to succeed. The enemy also possesses Mechanized Gun support along with heavy weapon strongpoints. One platoon of Armored Cars will support your platoon as it advances. Remember that the FlaK 88 has 360 degree traverse.
